Inlays & Onlays

As an increasingly popular option to restoring teeth beyond fillings are inlays and onlays. These types of restorations are done both aesthetically and conservatively, and due to the increased durability of the material used to make inlays and onlays, they are much longer lasting restorations than regular fillings.

Inlays may be indicated when you have a cavity that needs to be filled or if an older restoration needs replacing. These conservatively shaped restorations can be made in a gold or porcelain (white) material.

Onlays, similar to an inlay, can be made of gold or porcelain (white). It is a conservative treatment option that can restore the strength to a moderately broken down tooth either due to a cavity, defective filling needing replacement, or trauma.
